Seawall repair costs
in Naples.

By Naples Seawall RepairsUpdated: 2026-10-29

A useful seawall budget separates the wall work from design, approvals, access and restoring the property.

Worried about damage? Check the warning signs.Optional · 10 short questions · no contact details

Answer from what you already know. Stay on safe ground; do not go near the edge or into the water to check. You can choose “Not sure” for any question.

Skip this and go to the budget calculator

1. Holes, sinking ground, or soil washing out behind the wall?
2. Is the wall leaning or bulging toward the water?
3. What cracks have you noticed?
4. Gaps, missing pieces, or soil coming through the joints?
5. Is the top broken or crumbling, or is metal showing?
6. Are there rust stains on the wall?
7. Does water come over or through the wall at very high tides?
8. Has there been a major storm since the wall was last checked?
9. About how old is the wall?
10. When was the last professional inspection?
What this check is based on

The questions cover signs shown in the City of Holmes Beach seawall manual (pages 5–13): soil loss, wall movement, open joints and damaged concrete.

Three questions to get started. “Not sure” is welcome. No contact details needed.

An approximate length is fine.

Where can I find the wall length?

Look for the waterfront length on your property survey or seawall plans. For example, enter 75 for a wall that is about 75 feet long. If you cannot find it, tick “I don’t know the length yet”. Stay on safe ground; you do not need to measure beside the water.

Add height & site details Optional

Add what you know about the wall and access. We’ll include these details in your result so you can discuss how they affect the work and price.

Use the height from the bottom beside the wall (the mudline) to the top of the wall cap. Include the part under water. Use plans or a survey; leave this blank if you don’t know. Do not enter the full panel length or a survey elevation such as NAVD88. The buried depth and required top elevation come from the site design.

Use a price you’ve received Optional

How the planner works

For an available published range, multiply the price per foot by the length you enter. General construction ranges apply across material selections because the source does not separate material prices. Repair options are calculated separately; do not add them together. With no length, the calculator shows prices per foot. For a height change, it shows replacement costs for comparison, not a price to raise your existing wall.

Height, ground conditions, access and excluded work still need project-specific prices. These are published planning examples, not a quote or a local market average.

With a price for your property, a per-foot amount is multiplied by your entered length; a total quote stays a total. Add only costs excluded from that price, then apply your chosen reserve to the known subtotal. Anything without a price stays on your checklist. It is not treated as free.

For a repair or height change, use a price for that exact scope. Wall height, buried depth and the cap elevation on a survey are different inputs; leave unknown measurements blank and review them with the project professional.

What could your seawall cost?

Published contractor context, not a Naples average or a quote.

One Naples-based contractor publishes Southwest Florida construction and anchor ranges. The calculator applies those ranges to your wall length and keeps repair options separate. You can also enter your own quote.

Repair prices by type

Compare the stated anchor scopes separately. Other repairs need their own assessment and price.

Published repair estimates by type

Secondary anchors

New-wall prices per foot

The publisher does not separate this range by wall material or specify design dimensions and exclusions. It also states that it does not provide flat rates.

50-, 75- and 100-foot examples

Multiply the wall length by the price per foot. These are arithmetic illustrations from the advertised construction range, not estimates for a Naples parcel. Unpriced related work remains additional.

For example: 75 ft × $400–$900/ft = $30,000–$67,500. Check your wall length and what the price includes.

What to include in your price

Ask for a written list of what the price covers. Include the related work below when planning your total budget.

  • Survey, professional assessment, design and any ground investigation.
  • Old-wall removal, disposal, temporary protection and land or barge access.
  • Wall system, cap, anchors, returns, drainage, backfill and any required riprap.
  • Dock/lift changes, utility disconnections and reinstatement.
  • Local, state and federal approvals; inspections and final survey.
  • Pavers, irrigation, planting, fences and other site restoration.
  • Written exclusions, unpriced scope, change orders and an owner-chosen reserve.

Permit fees are a separate budget line

Your budget: Use a written project quote, then identify exclusions, allowances and unpriced work. The calculator gives a starting range from published Southwest Florida prices, or uses your own quote. These examples are not a Naples market average.

The City’s December 2023 seawall checklist lists a $100 permit fee, a review fee of 20% of that amount, $25 zoning and $35 for each initial required inspection. These are dated published components, not a verified current total. Obtain a fresh fee assessment before budgeting.

Collier’s fee index identifies a schedule effective January 1, 2026. Ask the county to identify the marine line items for your declared work value and scope.

Price access before selecting a low bid

Ask the contractor to identify the delivery route, equipment footprint and staging location. On City projects, the published checklist limits staging locations and excludes residential vacant lots.

  • Does the price include barge or land mobilization?
  • Who disconnects and reinstates dock utilities?
  • Are pavers, irrigation, planting and fences restored?
  • Is access permission needed from another owner?

Make two quotes comparable before adding a reserve

Quote A: wall work only

The price includes the wall but excludes engineering, permits, dock changes and yard restoration. Put those exclusions on separate lines and request prices. An excluded item with no price is still an open cost.

Quote B: broader scope

The price includes some of those items, but uses allowances for access and restoration. Ask what each allowance covers and how an overrun would be authorized. Check that both quotes use the same wall length and work limits.

This is a scope example, not a sample Naples price. In the planner, enter the quote you actually received and add only costs outside it. Do not add an included permit allowance twice. A reserve applies to known costs; it does not price omitted work.

Keep uncertainty visible

Use “unpriced” when an item is unresolved. A contingency is a separate owner-chosen allowance; it should not hide missing engineering, riprap or access work.

Ask for the quote’s validity date, payment milestones and written change-order process. Reconcile both bids to the same scope before comparing their totals.

How to use these prices

Source: Kalvin & Calvin Marine Construction, Seawall Construction in Naples, FL, FAQ; reviewed October 29, 2026. These are advertised ranges from one publisher, not completed-project data or a market survey. The same page states that it does not publish flat rates. No material-specific calculator rate is inferred. Construction examples multiply only length by the published range; repair rates are not used for replacement calculations.
